  • How far back can you claim

I was using a company called debt release direct to do my bank charges for me, but now it isnt easy they have closed that department, the problem i have is that they have alll my statements from 6 years starting from 2007, so thats back to 2001, they say they shredded them and no way of getting them back, so is there anyway i can get my statements dating back to 2001 as i think if i asked my bank ( nationwide ) they would only do 6 years from now, hope this makes sense and appreciate any information anyone could give me....

    Many thanks..

Ask them for confirmation in writing that they have deleted data older than 6 years for your account.

It was actually the company trying to claim the charges that have shredded the statements, wasn't sure if i could ask for further back than 6 years from now from nationwide.......
