Re: Speedy Loan which I have not had now demand payment

Better to be safe than sorry CC. Payday loans are always set up with a RCA against a bank account, so I would rather mention it unnecessarily, than it be overlooked. Thanks for pointing out the origiinal post - a RCA would have been in place, but was obviously cancelled. Without the RCA the loan would not have been granted.

At least there appears no chance of the OP's son being stung if what is written is the case. :beagle:

No - the RCA plainly bore the wrong card number!

The fraudster got payment made to his own bank account by giving the name and address of bikerchic's son, but not the number of his debit card which the fraudster probably never knew. The fraudster may even have invented a number for the debit card.

I think basic searches are carried out to confirm the existence of the account. They lend irresponsibly, hence this type of situation - checks are not thorough as recognised in a recent report, but they do some.

However, the RCA was set up, even if against a fraudulent account. The PDL company must know where the money went, but sadly it will probably be in Nigeria or somewhere by now, and untraceable.

It has been reported - that is the main thing. :beagle:

Thanks Guys, I have now written to Speedy Cash at the address given on the copy of the alleged credit agreement. I have asked them to supply my son with a true copy of the original credit agreement and sent payments of £1 using the template letter, I have also asked for details of the bank account which the money was paid to and what credit checks were carried out. I have also asked for the IP address of the PC used to apply for the loan. The letter has been sent recorded delivery. Waiting for a response. I will keep you posted.

Ahh that's good. Well done you, and Speedy Loans (eventually)

Have you checked your sons credit file, make sure it hasn't been affected ?
