Barclays take money from my account without any notice

I feel so bloody depressed and annoyed today as Barclays have helped themselves to all but 16p of my money. I held a BarclayCard which I couldnt keep up repayments for, which I also wrote and explained to them. Not once did they respond or agree to a payment plan.

Instead they have emptied my account out the day after I got paid leaving me with 16p to survive on. I explained to them that I have mortgage payment to go out plus bills and also need money to travel to work and eat etc, but they fobbed me off and said they might consider refunding a small portion, which still wont be enough.

Surely I can do something about this? They cant just leave a person with no money at all.

I feel so depressed and angry.

How much did you owe on the Barclaycard, how long has it been outstanding and how much of that did they take?

Mate, if it helps, rest assured you're not the only one with 16p to live on.

I had the same issue with Lloyds TSB. The first time, they took money out of my current account to service my credit card without notice, so I emptied my account hoping they wouldn't be able to do it again. How wrong was I?

I had a £1000 overdraft limit on the account so a few weeks later, they took money out of my account making me overdrawn to the tune of £350! What sense is there in using their cash to service their loans?

In the end I decided to clear the overdraft and close the account. Only they wouldn't allow me to do that at first because I was in arrears on my credit card repayments and they had to get authorization from the collections department.

What an absolute farce!
