On Monday evening I had an 'Enforcement Agent' visit my home regarding an outstanding magistrates fine for no TV licence. It was for the amount of just over £800. This was their first visit. He was adamant if we could not pay he would be calling locksmith to enter the house as I refused him entry. I managed to pay him £250 and he said he would be back Friday for outstanding amount of £522 or he would be taking goods.
Now can anyone answer these questions for me?
If I refuse to let him enter will he follow through and get locksmiths?
Also we have very little of any worth in the house so it would never cover the amount of the fine.We don't have a computer or fancy iPads etc. Can they still enter if they cannot take stuff worth enough to pay debt?
My son has a TV and a PS4 and Wii u the bailiff said he can take all electrical items in the house?
Also both vehicles are in my partner's name, can they remove them?
Will a statutory declaration that my partner owns everything stop them entering?
Also I have a workshop where I run my business which has tools in, can they take those?
TIA for my help or advice.
