  • Lowell harassing me

Well I have numerous debts from living at home from various company's. Low and behold Lowell a company I have researched immensely online havenquiry a variety bad reputation for doing this and being polite when I say this are a bunch of idiots.

I suffe from depression and the loss of family members and currently receiving treatment for anxiety and depression. I have also recently been diagnosed with a back problem which I will end up needing surgery and currently getting rehab to help cope with pain.

Anyway back to Lowell after receiving letters after letters and phone calls I had enough and contacted them via email. They contacted me back took me off their phone lines and proceeded to tell me they would put a hold on the accounts for 60 days. I was to send a former stating my medical conditions and sign an agreement that they would be getting this information as it is private information on my health. They also want a list of my expenditures

I thought this was genuine... until a week later I'm sent a letter stating I have 30 days to produce said documents or they will proceed with getting the full amounts of the debt they've bought. I can barley pay my bills and it's put worry on me as I don't know what to do. Do I send the information on my medical problems from my doctor or not. I can't afford to pay them and I'm in rented accommodation and nothing in the house belongs to me. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

Your choice whether to give them any info I would not they will send loads of letters we call them threatograms but if like me you have a bad credit history no house and obvious assets they will get nowhere near to a Court threat only if this happens should you respond in which case this Forum will help ,
Most of all stop worrying your health is more Important than Lowell

        Re: Lowell harassing me

I've had many sleepless nights because of them it got too much when they rang every day and letters. I have a sleep condition that cause high blood pressure as well as my anxiety/depression and recent back issues which could possibly cause me to leave my job in the future..

Contacted them via email as I refuse to speak over the phone as I know of their bully tactics but seems they refuse to play by the book or listen to reason.

Just don't know what to do as it's putting a strain on my work/personal life and health

Hi Sheldon1982 & welcome to LB.

What exactly are they 'chasing'? (ie, a loan, credit card, bank account, overdraft etc)

If a contract/agreement, when was it signed?

If for an alleged debt, when was the last time you paid into the account or personally acknowledged it in writing?

It is credit cards and mobile phone contract. The cards were used to help pay for funeral costs etc after loss. Last payment was 2 years ago.

I've read up on lowell and their bully boy tactics. The cards were done online.

I'm having to go back to doctors about my anxiety/depression due to this as I've had a relapse and having sleepless nights

Lowells have a right to pursue the debt its their tactics that are wrong to some until they stop chasing you they will use any means to get you to pay.
what is the total amounts of the debts can you afford to set up a payment plan or are you willing to ignore or fight them .
We have about 50 letters here from them since 2009 chasing various debts none of their threats have been carried out the just pass them to another bunch of collectors to try once they fail Lowell get the debt back We chose to ignore them what you do has to be your choice keep on this forum others will offer help

Did you reclaim this from the deceased's estate? (Not sure here whether mobile phone is to do with funeral costs, etc.)

I owe quite a lot of money but I can't afford to pay anything as I'm currently in a position where tax aren't taking the right amount out of my wages I've had two bills sent out and I'm busy paying them a monthly payment and possibly getting another bill again.

I'm under a lot of stress at the moment and it's putting a lot of strain on my physical and mental health

Did you admit liability for either or both of the alleged debts in your email?

They are allowed to send letters after all they say you owe money good that phone calls are stopped unless you contact them they will carry on .
on the back of the envelope there is a return address if its them don't open it saves worrying

Surprise surprise another letter and the date was dated last monday. Dirty tactics yet again from them. I refuse to be bullied by them. I will be taking them head on as it is causing me extreme anxiety i did not sleep much last night and I'm having to visit doctors for yet more medication.
