  • help! bailiffs!!!!

I moved to my new property on May 1st.
Got a visit from Jacobs enforcement agent on Tuesday 23:June.
He showed me NO ID NO letters and DIDN'T come in.
Explained I had paid Council Tax on 17th but he didn't care. Told me I had loads of warnings (I didn't even know that they were involved!)
They said May 18th they sent a 7 day prior warning, but I did not get that. My only and last letter was direct from CT on 1/6/2015 no aggression just stating I needed to pay £4.50 which I did.
Went to CAB and she called CT who said they didn't sell the debt to Jacobs and she advised me to pay the debt £307.18 in full on their automatic payment line. So I did.
Next day Jacobs turn up I tell him it is paid in full, direct to the countil. He tried to argue with me saying he was not told and the council says it isn't. After producing a receipt he agreed it might take a while to show.
He reluctantly gave me a break down on the phone, £75 x 2 compliance fee and an Enforcement fee of £235 total of £385 (leaving £235.18 un accounted for from his original fees)
he said if it isn't paid with in 5 hours he will remove my goods.
I haven't heard from him since Thursday. He knows (as does Jacobs) I am on ESA with children ( 4-11) and doesn't care. They want the money in full. They said they will not return my debt to the council tax, my liability order (what is that?)
And debts will remain with them until it hasbeen through their entire procedure and associated fees may be incurred.
They state they have given me ample opportunities to make arrangements but i really have not received one letter of them prior to the debt enforcement officer at my door!
I have not seen to this day any ID paper work or signed anything.
CAB said to not pay a penny.
Advice from forums say ignore him.
Debt line says I owe the £75 but only once he cannot keep charging me for coming out.

    So what do I do?
    I haven't got £235 & £75 x 2 sitting around.

I'm sick of locking doors and windows. Hiding.
    Advice ?

(Also my reply letter today 26.6.2015 they actually sent me someone else's debt letter. I am in Kent she is in Manchester. She has until 3rd to pay. Don't ask me how they folded them up together and sent them to me)

    Re: help! bailiffs!!!!

I think you need to clear up a few things, contact the council and ask them how many liability order have been applied for on your account, how much they were for and for what payment periods. Then ask them how many liability orders have been referred to the enforcement agencies for collection.

When you have the info come back on here.
