Cabot - bizare letter!

Hi

Last year I had a claim by Cabot struck out because they couldn't provide any documents. Yesterday I received a letter from them welcoming me to Cabot and saying that they had recently bought this debt?? Very odd given that they issued a claim against me last year. The new debt amount totals the original claim amount plus the court fees and the references are the same as the old ones. Should I just ignore this or write to them pointing out that I'm not new to them and they haven't just bought this debt ?!!

Obviously auto-generated letter. Perhaps if someone has decided they might have another go begging for the money, then shoving it back into whatever collection queue/system they have generated that by default as it saw it wrongly as a fresh account? Who knows really?

If it was me I would give them a right royal shot across the bow before they get much further on whatever letter chain they are on now, but others might think just ignore to see if anything else happens, which it might not.

Cabot seem to be in a very confused state at present, playing silly B's with time scales etc., this is not the first Cabot faild claim to resurface this year.
I suggest a letter to Ken Stannard their CEO referring them to their own records which is what they say in some of their other templates.
