Just an update. I think I'll be ok as Scottish Widows have corresponded on the policy claim which should count as acknowledgment of the debt. This should "renew" the limitation period. Unfortunately they are still messing about. They are not accepting the death certificate which I obtained from the register office !

I have sent it back to them telling them to raise any queries with Birmingham Register Office who issued it. I suspect they are just wasting time to delay the payment.
