Hi
Let's say someone runs a blog and has an affiliate ad banner which is paid based on the number of times an ad is placed on their site. ("Impressions"). The site owner usually gets paid US$1 or less per month so it hasn't been that lucrative so far. This month they received a payment into their PayPal account for over US$150 - about £90 - from this ad campaign; however on checking the impressions listed in the stats tool, they only seem to be due about US$1 as usual.
It seems that this payment may have been made by mistake; but the site owner has no means of repaying it, and have no idea whether the affiliate company is going to reclaim it or not. What would your advice to the Site owner be as to their next steps, and what is the Law surrounding the position they're in?
Thanks
