I'm currently experiencing financial problems, which have been exacerbated by appalling treatment from the bank I've been with for almost 40 years, 33 of which I was a member of staff, currently a staff pensioner with my pension being paid directly to the bank in question (at least for the time being).
I made a formal complaint to the Chairman et al., on 24 May (copied to the Financial Ombudsman) and had to wait until 11 June for their response, which was so full of mistakes and incorrect assumptions that I had to limit myself to pointing out only the worst nine in my response, dated/posted 12 June. I've yet to have a response, chased 27 June. I also wrote to my main account holding branch on 6 June, again, no response yet. They only have until somewhere around 23 July to resolve my complaint before the Ombudsman will step in (8 weeks from receipt of my letter of 24 May).
I've received a number of automated letters concerning the overdraft, which I informed them about before it happened (circumstances beyond my control), asking me to call an expensive 0845 number, which I can ill afford at the moment.
Am I within my rights to insist on all communications being in writing? I don't trust them one iota and want hard evidence of everything that is said, when and by whom.
