  • Egg now Barclaycard

I have a very old Egg credit card debt ccj £10K. which is being repaid through Barclaycard. I have been making minimum payments every month since 2010 but want to check if I am being charged interest. I have moved house a few times and not been in contact with Barclaycard. I don't particularly want to remind them that I exist. Any views on if the ccj would have allowed them to charge interest?

    Thanks

As I understand it interest accrues on all judgement debts for sums over £5,000.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

The judgement rate is 8% simple per annum. On £10,000 that would be £800 interest accruing each year.
