Evening,
I was hoping someone could shed some light on this, apologies if this topic has been covered before.
I had a CCJ granted against me back in 2020 for approx £3600, unfortunately I buried my head in the sand following some financial difficulties.
Terms were set at £100 a month and I have never missed a payment. This has always taken place through direct debit.
The balance sits at approx £360.
About a week ago I received an email from Overdales saying they have taken ownership of this debt and all correspondence and payments should go to them, I immediately checked the online system with Lowell and sure enough it says the account is being managed by someone else and I can no longer make payment to them?
My question is if the Judgment was granted to Lowell then do I need to pay Overdales as the terms of the judgment was with Lowell?
I have had no legal agreement with Overdales at all and why should I contact another company who have just sent me an email, nothing official at all?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
regards
Smithy
