Hi,
I am writing to seek your legal assistance and guidance regarding a recent issue I have encountered with a debt collection agency called Advantis that is representing Thames Water.
To provide some background, I resided in the address they mentioned for nearly 14 months, this was from February 2020 until April 2021, during which time I made several attempts to establish a billing arrangement with Thames Water. However, they encountered persistent difficulties in locating the water meter associated with my flat.
Upon moving into the property, I promptly contacted Thames Water to activate my water bill. However, despite their numerous attempts, their workers were unable to locate the meter within my flat. The reason for this confusion must be from the fact that my flat was connected to the estate agency from which I rented the property. It was commonly assumed that the water meter was connected to the estate agency's building.
Recently, I received communication from a debt collection agency called Advantis, notifying me that Thames Water is pursuing me for an outstanding business. However, the communication doesn’t specify the amount owned. It is important to note that I never received a bill or any sort of letter from them in the time living in that address. Advantis insists that I contact them to address the matter. Given the circumstances, I am unsure how to proceed.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in assessing the situation and providing guidance on the appropriate course of action.
Please let me know if there are any additional details or documentation you require to better understand the situation.
Thank you so much!
