  • Hoist Finance ltd Letter & Lowell ltd letter.

In October 2022 Hoist finance was acquired by Lowell group ltd (LPI) I have only just received notification of that sale at the same time I received a letter from Lowell portfolio I ltd.stating that they are now dealing with my debt management as instructed ref, Lowell Finacial ltd.
I am a Pensioner who's only income is the basic state pension plus a disabiltiy pension I have no assets and living with my partner. The debt is a very old one going back to when the company I was employed with made its staff redundant at very short notice and closed. I entered into agreements for monthly payments with my creditors this was kept up until eventualy this debt was sold to Hoist Finance they accepted my payment offer and I have regularly paid via standing order ever since, never missing a payment. I have never received a statement of payments although repeatedly asking for one.

I have responded to Lowell by recorded letter informing them that a standing order will be set up to make payments directly to them as instructed using a reference and bank details they have given . I have given a debt management reference to Lowell ref, stepchange etc.etc.
I am aware that Lowell are an aggressive intimidating debt collecting agency and frankly am worried that I will face harrassment tactics as I have suffered in the past I certainly am in no postion to increase my payments. I hope that I have done all that I can correctly in dealing with this agency. Would they be able to supply a statement of payments?.

    thank you .

    Hi Tyke

If they are aggressive, there are lots of things you can do, complain to them, follow their complaints procedure, lodge a complaint with the FOS and FCA. Make sure you get Proof of Postage.

There is a 'cost of living crisis', you have priority outgoings i.e. food, heating, etc.

Ask them if they will write off the debt. Fill in a Income & Expenditure form, send that. Amend the following template to suit your circumstances (pensioner, disability, cost of living crisis etc), make sure you get Proof of Postage.

For information on your payments, you can send them a SAR, template in Shortcuts, on the right.

Update the thread with their response. If they hassle you update the thread.
