Write to them, fill in an income and expenditure form, tell them you've sought advice and that is what you've been told to do.
Unless you are on a fixed tariff, your energy bills has gone up by £1,000's, food, fuel etc, so sending bank statements is meaningless.
I'd lodge a Formal Complaint, follow their complaints procedure.
