  • Marstons and the legal aid

    Hi there

My husband recently being accussed of something he has meant to have done at work and since being sacked even thou it's all hear say.

He is due in court in 2022 for the allocations and our solicitors believes we have a strong case only issue we have is when the court case started he was working and we applied for legal aid via our solicitors but within weeks of applying he lost his job.

Legal aid said we had to pay over 8k in legal fees via marstons but now are saying we have to pay just under 6k not sure how they work this out as he is on JSA and I only earn 1400 a month if I'm lucky we can't even afford to pay an IVA we are in with credit fix and they have being really understanding about everything but Marstons and legal aid are just like no sorry it has to be paid and our solicitors are looking into this.

Has anyone else every had this and how do we deal with it.

To start with when we got the first few letters we paid 255 for first 2 months whilst Mattson's and legal aid sorted the issue out but now they just want the rest the only reason we could afford them previously was savings we had which we no longer do and really struggling and not sure what or if there is anything we can do

Thanks any help or advise would be great
