  • PRA Group & CCA Request help!

    Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to clear up all my debts so I can try and get a mortgage, I had 3 defaults on my file, I know they stay for 6 years I think they come off in 2024, I’ve settled 2 of them, one in full and one took a settlement but the third one is with PRA group and they are a nightmare. It’s an old Barclaycard account and the balance is £2.6k, I phoned and asked for a settlement they said they would only take £2.5k!

I wrote to them with a CCA request, and they wrote back saying they would look in to it and get back to me within 14 days. I’ve had no more correspondence from them at all. I’m just wondering if they haven’t written to me (it’s been about 2 months) does that mean the debt is not enforceable and I should write to them and offer them 10% as a full and final settlement? I’m new to all this, and I just want to be able to get a mortgage, I don’t have any other debts, I owe about 300 on a credit card which is paid every month in full, and I’ve just paid off my car finance. I owe £200 on my overdraft which I’m planning to pay back in the next month or two.
I’m not really sure where to go from here, and also if the debts are settled, would I then be able to apply to maybe get a co ownership agreement? I read that all defaults have to be settled but did didn’t give a time line.

    thanks in advance!

unenforceable until/if they produce one from originators, as far as mortgages go forget it until better score attained.

      Thank you for your reply,

so what do I do? Sit and wait until they contact me or do I write to them to see what’s going on?

I’ve noticed on my credit file that both Barclaycard and PRA have registered the same debt as default so it shows two instead of one, can I get one of them removed? If so, how do I go about it?

If the same default contact CRA on line they should contact the companies if ora bought off Barclays then the default should show only change of owner
