  • Irresponsible lending Provident.

    Hi again,
    Thank you for your response.
I am asking this question on behalf of my sister and late mother, who I have recently discovered have been having home credit loans from Provident for a period of 10 years.
My sister clearly has some learning difficulties, and is currently suffering from mental health issues. Bi Polar, Psychosis and Mania..
She had 18 loans over the years. 13 of which were paid off by early settlement balance. Paid by having further larger loans. One original loan was for 1,400 esb was over 900 pounds.Paid off by having a bigger one. Even though she was already in arrears with one loan. My sister still owes 1800 pounds and has been paying it back at a lower rate for the last 5 years since Mother passed away.
Mom had 13 loans over a similar period. 9 of these were paid off by further loans early settlement. The last time she had a loan she was aged 82 wheelchair bound and on 24 hour oxygen. The 1200 pound loan was to be paid off over 106 weeks at 24.00 per week. How could they allow this? She passed away owing 4 payments which were quashed on her death.
Do you think there is a case to complain? If there was a possibility of them releasing my sister from the 1800 pounds debt still owed. I t would certainly relieve my sister from some stress I think. Although I haven`t a clue if anything could be done about our moms case now she has passed away. I am just so angry that vulnerable people like them, can be taken advantage of in this way.
Is there any way that I can get Provident investigated or blacklisted is some way . I so wish I could.
    Thank you
