  • Removal of Defaults

Hi I'm in a DMP. Will have it paid off completely within the next two years. Hopefully sooner.

I've won two irresponsible lending claims against two of my creditors. It was due to one of these loans that I entered the DMP. I had never missed a payment in my life before I just couldn't pay my debt down without further credit.

Because I won the irresponsible lending claim could I argue with the Ombudsman that is evidence that my entering of the DMP was due to irresponsible lending and asked for the defaults of the other lenders to be removed from my credit file? The irresponsible lender has removed any negative information but it was the farther reaching effect that made me enter the DMP.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well done on succeeding with those two claims.

You can but ask the Ombudsman to remove the other defaults. I don't give much for your chances, but if you don't ask ...
