Hi I am after someadvice.
I have recieved a letter this evening from Shop Direct regarding my PPI Complaint. My complaint has been upheld and they have written to say the amount to be refunded will be paid straight to Lowells, who bought the debt from Shop Direct whilst i was in a debt management program with them ( i am still in the dmp )
I have called the Financial Ombundsman, who this complaint was referred to 2 years ago, this evening who say they are in the right to do so because although Lowells are a third party it is a debt recovery company.
I was under the impression that if the debt was sold to Lowells, Shop Direct legally have no say in it.
Please can anyone advise? I have a bill which this refund would have cleared off which is costing alot each month with a very high APR.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Stacey
