Hi
At the end of July I received a letter from Drysdenfairfax chasing an Npower debt from 2012. I had previously set up payments with a DCA which had stopped so I had assumed they had run there course.
I have not responded to any of the letters as I thought this was settled but eventually decided to contact Npower after threats of court action.
Npower told me that the debt had been written off and that all the details had been deleted from the system which I found odd. I asked for a letter with this information on so I could send it on to DCA. I was told they would have to look into if this was possible and it would take a couple of weeks to get to me. I am yet to receive this letter and the DCA letters keep arriving. I think the bill that Npower initially issued was wrong and when I spoke to them in 2012 they said they would need to send it off for calculation as they had switched systems and it had created an error but was told they would advise the DCA i was paying at the time of any amendments that would need to be made.
I'm now concerned as they have sent me a letter saying I can pay a reduced sum but if I do not they will recommend Npower to consider litigation. I'm not sure what to do next as I don't even know if I can speak to ofgem as they have deleted all the account info.
