LLoyds changing

Hi all
Had a letter from LLoyds bank to say SCM Solicitors no longer deal with their debt recovery its now G J Cooper they also go on to say they will be contacting me through LLoyds does that mean its still in house collection agency ?

Ive had one too, presume i just carry on making payments as already agreed but to new solicitor?

When you scan can you make sure any footer/header or smallprint etc is included.

There are 13 solicitors registered as solicitors with Lloyds Asett Finance Ltd but only 4 are listed as " In House Solicitors" John Graham Cooper is one of these 4............the other 9 are listed as " employees" of Lloyds Asett Finance Ltd........... Make of that what you will.............I only post information

My mother and brother today had letters today from lloyds bank plc with the smae information as mentioned above. G J Cooper now act on behalf of Lloyds Banking Group. In place of P Simmons, SCM Solicitors. Thing is My mother has banked with Barclays for 20+ years and never had a loan/accound with Lloyds, same goes for my Brother. Hence me doing some searching to see if this is a possible scam as the letters look like cheap photocopies, and the signature is legal recoveries.

Thank you for posting up the letter. It all seems legit to me, Lloyds have had to stop using the SCM Solicitors name, as they didn't exist, and was really their own in house solicitors using a scary company name to worry customers, so this is a lot more above board. Basically they are correcting their previous cock up so nothing at all to worry about.

So letters could come from any of the 13 solicitors in the organisation ( Lloyds Asset Finance ) - more likely one of the 5 who practice at that address;

A change of solicitor in proceedings and notifying the court of that, would suggest that legal action on whatever they are chasing has already been issued?

Thanks for the reply, These letters are the first we have heard about owing anything to lloyds, no nasty letters previously from lloyds or courts etc, hence the shock. the letter for my brother has a slightly different amount, slightly different judgement number and Acc number.. all seems a bit suspect.

Indeed I missed that in your initial post - sorry. Can you check your mothers / brothers credit files? Noodle is a good free instant one.

Cheap photocopies and signing as a company or department sadly doesn't flag it up as a scam as the banks do do that to save the pennies I guess.

I have received the very same letter (x2) this morning too for 2 CCJ's with Lloyds.

Panicked a bit at first on opening, but yeah, just notification of the change of solicitor from SCM to G J Cooper. I have had them before with other CCJ's. Nothing to worry about - unless you received the above letter for a debt you have no knowledge of, of course!
