  • ARC Europe Ltd

I don't want to put too much info here at this time as I'm guessing the DCAs also read this forum...

I would like to ask a general question:

If a letter is received from a creditor saying that ARC Europe Ltd is now managing the account on their behalf, what does this actually mean?

There's no mention of assignment of debt but the creditor says in their letter that all correspondence must now be directed to ARC Europe.

Do I have to comply with this?

    Re: ARC Europe Ltd

I suppose what I'm really asking is can I ignore correspondence from ARC and insist on settling the disputed debt directly with the original creditor, once I have informed ARC that I'm not willing to correspond with them?

What is their legal status when they say they are 'managing the account' on behalf of the original creditor?

They have already tried to threaten a county court action via their Solicitors (Major & Co) but placed the account 'on hold' when informed the alleged debt was in dispute with the original creditor.

    Thanks in anticipation

You can try and settle with the Original creditor they will say yes or no.
Worth a try if that's your wish
