3 Account- Now under Lowell Portfolio

Sorry to be asking for more advice, but I never thought anything of this one as it was for a small amount.

In 2011 I had an account with 3 which i closed. I thought everything was paid up (i called 3 when it was closed and made sure there was nothing owed). They never got in touch again.

Last year Lowells made contact, around October 2012 saying i owed 3 85.36. I rang lowells and said i don't, i paid it.

They then went and did some investigating and came back and said they have it from 3 it is still owed.

I went my merry way and set up a payment plan with them, but never actually paid anyting. I keep cancelling it.

I still don't think i owe anything, is there anything i can do now i assume i have admitted i owe the money by offering a payment plan?

You acknowledged the debt, yes, but then it wasn't close to statute barred. Given the small amount, personally I'd be inclined not to worry, issuing a claim would cost them around a third of that amount so they're not going to bother. If they ring you, refuse to go through security and hang up. If they write to you, respond with a prove it letter asking them to prove the debt. :thumb:

Cancelled my direct debit to them.

I'll await their next letter. :llama:

Is there a standard prove it letter for mobile accounts, or do i write it from scratch?

Update on this one:

Lowells sorry Hamptons Legal have sent a letter saying they are considering legal action.

Should i now send a prove it letter?
