I have just received a threatogram from these delightful people concerning a LloydsTSB account. They are offering a 50% discount off the balance, otherwise they will arrange for a ' licensed field agent' to visit me at home to discuss face to face my reasons for non payment!

I am under the impression that they are getting desperate to get me to come to some sort of arrangement with them. I have a feeling that:

The debt is shortly to become statute barred (will check with Credit Expert).

I am not about to make any appointment for one of their 'field agents' to come to my home. As I live in the depths of the countryside, the term 'field agent' takes on a whole new meaning!

Any comments welcome.

SNAP we got 26 letters from them with every threat you can think of as for field agents have you a field to sell or are you buying one? LOL

How large is the debt Ruthie? Lowells are terrible for issuing Statutory Demands for anything over the £750 threshold. If they do, make sure Celestine knows they have immediately, as she will, I'm sure, help you to resolve it.

In terms of it being nearly SB, then I would ignore and see what happens. You don't want to risk resetting the 6 year clock. :beagle:

Hi Labman,

Thanks for the post. The amount involved is £2170.00. They are giving me the option of paying 50% of it now, or a monthly arrangement of £20.00. If I took the latter option I would be kicking up the daisies!

I get the impression that they are getting a bit desperate but I have no intention of paying them a penny and starting the clock again.

I await the next threatening letter in 10 days time.

Will now do an inspection of the garden, just in case!!

No need to be jealous!!

I can't wait; love a good scrap. When my mum was still alive she received a similar letter from one of these agencies. She had never owed anything to anyone before and I was incandescent to put it mildly.
She was getting phone calls at all hours of the day and had to change her phone number.

Ah! of Course = 007.5 turds = cow pat acting as a Agent in a field, looking for a worm (i.e. Chief executive officer).

Carried out a field inspection today. Even took my camera with me but apart from next doors cat, nothing to report. Shame!

It's just arrived on the doorstep. Am so excited! Red are now practically begging for anything I can afford and threatening me with a field agent or one of their specialist debt collection partners!!

Will file under 'ignore'.

They are also threatening me with a visit of an agent to my home. Should give the neighbours something to talk about in my little village!
