    Re: Me v 1st Credit

It may be worth contacting the police above who specialise in this, explaining what has happened. Perhpas over the past few years, this issue has started to be taken far more seriously.

At the time I did check the credit file. I had defaults and with the help of the FOS got these removed. Not easy but achieved eventually and with help.

I had not heard from 1st credit for a number of years and this letter came out of the blue. I have read other threads and it seems they are chasing SB debts again.

What I am looking to achieve is to get 1st credit off my back. As stated the others do not chase and currently the credit file is clean.

What I require help with is a killer letter to 1st credit to stop any more letters or before they take things further. I would rather nip it in the bud now.
Even if the police couldn't do anything to catch the fraudsters because they left the country, that doesn't mean YOU have to pay for something they did. :nono: If this was reported to the police and even the FOS got involved, then that's all the proof you need to supply to show it's not your debt. :mod: :mod: :mod:

If the debt is SBd they wouldn't be able to collect it through the courts, nor should they be hassling you for it, however, I'd be reluctant to send the SBd letter just as a matter of principle, if it isn't YOUR debt in the first place, you can't argue that it's SBd, it's not yours and you reported to the police, that's all you have to say. The police don't always solve every crime that gets reported, that doesn't mean those crimes didn't happen.
