First of all Hi everyone,been looking at this great Forum,not moved off settee this afternoon,having a read,and knowing this is the place where I know we can find help.
We used to run a business (family ) for a lot of years,my husband ,myself and Son,till this dreaded recession set in,being inthe catering wholesale trade,customers were closing down and not paying bills,and things just escalated,as you can imagine,took a toll on all our healthy to be honest,Anyhow the van we had hired for about 4 years had to go back,then months after we had these bills come through for bumps and bulbs not working etc,but this van had to be dropped of at a Ford centre,no signed copy was handed to the person to say they had received it back,and we were not asked for a signature,anyhow within a couple of days this van was moved to another centre 20 miles away,where they came back saying there were bumps on it the we disputed and a £2249.00 bill.They also said that as we signed on behalf of a ltd company,we were Garantors and responsible for any outstanding amount that was due.We asked for copies of this about being Garantors,B/w legal sent us dirty photo stated copies that were unreadable,they said they could not supply clean copies unless they were blank without our signatures on.So Now we have had some scruffy guy knock the door and hand my husband SD papers/bankruptcy,He would not accept mine,so I suppose they will come in the post.-Anyhow on this SD,it is not the same as the download on the computer,Our legal rights have been omitted,so we are off to court tomorrow,also there is no court reference,so hubby rang courts,they have no knowledge?.Have taken it to CAB, Free advice off a solicitor,and pay plan and they all say we are entitled to readable copies,They reckon would not stand up in court when judge tries to read,although you can see hubby's signature,but everything else unreadable.help please,we are contesting this,do not agree with final bill,and also they have bought this debt and only have grubby photostats.Thanks
