Re: Welcome finiance help needed urgently.

I used to work for Welcome Finance. The car division was closed down as they started to run into financial difficulties . Welcome policy used to be that tehy would not cancel a car contract but merely put you into a new vehicle . They carried this to such an extent that even when the bargain had been struck down by the high court they wouldn't refund to a customer and it took the HCEOs clamping the the cars belonging to the ceo and financial director to get the customer a refund . It's also entirely possible that they have not defaulted you until recently and will argue that hte account is enforceable.

Northampton is the Bulk processing centre for money claims. If it was issued at an old address, it would have been obtain by default when you failed to respond to the claim. If you can show the court the creditor had your current address at the time, you could have it set aside. You'll also have to show you'd have good prospects of defending the claim. A £80 fee is payable for the application but can be waived under certain circumstances. See this for reference: http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/en...e_county_court

So what happens to the debt after that letter is sent out?
Unless they can show any payments were made in the last 6 years, they just have to stop chasing you once they receive the letter. :thumb:

Ive just started a company and was worried it could do some bother with that.
It shouldn't have anything to do with the company as such, however, when you attempt to open a business account, the bank will normally carry out a directors' credit check The one thing that would interfere with your being a company director is bankruptcy: https://www.ukcreditinfo.co.uk/cms/c...pany-director/
