  • Network fees after group closes

Will try to keep it short:

Have been a member of a national network group for the last three years unfortunately it was closed 4 weeks ago, in my opinion unfairly that been the case in the TC it does state no refunds. Firstly they have offered alternative groups on different days as well other locations which are not practical for my business. We have had new members who joined before my renewal only 5 weeks before the group closed, i am pleased to say they have managed to get a refund my renewal was paid after the member had joined only 4 weeks before the group closed. They are still talking about my case but have just received the quote below.

However, I wish to clarify that the new members had their fees returned and were not refunded.

Surely if a network group closes not of own doing plus refunds have been issued surely they cant refuse me i am willing to take them to the small claims court.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Sounds fair enough - they should refund pro-rata fees. I am sure that a court will view T&C that state "no refunds under any condition" as an unfair terms as from what you are saying contracted services changed materially.

"However, I wish to clarify that the new members had their fees returned and were not refunded."

Well that makes about as much sense as a 5 year old kid. When monetary funds are used for payment and they are returned, then it is a refund.

Perhaps the return of the fee was the result of a cooling off period for new applicants that would not apply to existing members. Maybe
