Hello
I would like to pay off my university fees. I went off sick and didn't return. I didn't pay my fees for the last term because they seemed unfair.
I have now given up arguing with the university about how much I owe them. I was given some poor advice but it was done by such a kind tutor I can't bear to carry on if it comes back to her.
Basically, my account is with OPus. I want to avoid paying their 20% collection charge. The university are refusing to discuss it with me. Is there anything I can do? Do I just have to pay up? I'm on maternity leave and have some money I can use to clear my debt so I can start budgeting properly. Whats the best thing? Just accept it? Or is there any legal basis for getting the debt back to the university? I know the debt collectors are acting as agents and have not bought the debt.
Thank so much for any advice you can give.
