  • Career Development Loans and CRAs

I have a Barclays Bank Career Development Loan (CDL) circa 2005. I went on a CCCS DMP in 2006. Came off DMP in 2008. Barclays continued taking payments. Have been paying a nominal amount but no formal repayment plan; just a letter from me sayng I can only pay you £10 pm and an i/e sheet. No correspondence back from them; they have just accepted the payments.

    Q. Can the bank mark my credit files as an Arrangement to Pay? If they do, is there any way to challenge it and get it removed?

I would have thought if it was informal all you would need to do is deny it was ever an informal arrangement and ask them to produce the paperwork where this agreement was arranged.

It isn't really an arrangement to pay as you're paying differing amounts each month, whereas an AP I thought was where you agreed to repay a definite sum each month.
