  • Link Financial Outsourcing - Link Financial

Looks like Link Financial Limited have passed many old 'lemons' onto the Link Financial Outsourcing Limited; same group, same desks and same building!

Link Financial Limited, were unable to collect on same and the fact that they have passed on the administartion of these disputed 'lemons' to (the RBS funded) Link Outsourcing really does cause one to raise an eyebrow or, two.

I am given to understand that pretty blue postcards decorated with balloons are currently being mailed e.g:

    "Turn over for appointment details

Our agent would like to call this Saturday

Contact us on 02920 808610 if this is not convenient."

In small print print at the base of postcard:
Registered address: Link financial outsourcing, camelford house, 89 albert embankment, London SE1 7TP
Of course, the above is just another ploy to get people to pick up the phone in order to have a nice friendly chat with the charmers at Link Farcical...

Never speak to a DCA on the telephone!

A debt collector who’s been doing very well in the credit crunch has also become a Tory donor. Selina Burdell, who runs debt collectors Link Financial with her American husband Paul, gave £25,000. Her firm specialises in buying “distressed debt” and chasing the debtors. Business is certainly good for the Burdells – last year they began a £20m scheme to improve their Chelsea home by knocking down two neighbouring houses and building a seven-storey mansion.
Many debtors complain that Link Financial “hounds” them, and last year the Office of Fair Trading officially warned the firm to stop using approaches to debtors’ next-door neighbours as part of its collections strategy.

The Link Outsourcing call centre, is almost opposite from:

Royal Mail Holdings Plc - Road Haulage And Transport Services in Caerphilly CF83

                      Basic Information

                      Royal Mail Holdings Plc
                      Road Haulage And Transport Services
                      Unit 16

Re: Link Financial Outsourcing - Link Financial

...RE: LINK FINANCIAL..Ok..Ive read with interest the comments on here hoping to get some sort of advice..Im a new poster so bear with me!..I ran into financial trouble about ten years ago in the UK and had to use a financial company called Baines and Ernst in order to repay my debts..I did this right up until October of 2011 when i had payed off many creditors but not all....The reason i stopped paying was that after 10 years i suddenly decided enough was enough and I emigrated to Australia...One of the creditors was MBNA..who have since sold the debt to Link Financial....I owe them £1500. No one but family and friends know my address or telephone number but about 2 months ago my 19 year old daughter called me from the UK to say that someone from Link Financial had called HER on her MOBILE phone and asked of my whereabouts. They obviously had no idea i was in Australia..but told my daughter that "they needed to speak to me as they had an important parcel for me"!...My daughter didnt smell the rat unfortunately, and oblivious to the outcome gave them my details. How the hell these people obtained my daughters mobile number is a complete mystery and Im pretty sure they have acted underhand by contacting her and obtaining my details under false pretences...Needless to say, they have now been ringing my Australian mobile number..(I dont have a landline)..at all hours of the night and leaving voicemail messages asking me to call them...which of course i have ignored!..I have also recieved 2 letters postmarked Malta on them which i havent responded to....I have no intention of contacting them at all...but what can they actually do to retrieve the money?...I have read on other forums that they can ask a DCA in Australia to act on their behalf if necessary...If the debt is a UK debt is there anything at all an Australian DCA can do to enforce payment?...Will Link Financial honestly go the whole hog for a measly £1500???....If someone knocks my door can I tell them i am the person they are looking for but there is absolutely no way i am paying?...I reitterate..I HAVE NO INTENTION OF ACKNOWLEDGING THEM..but if I eventually have to...can I insist on asking them how they obtained my details before going any further?...Can I insist on only conversing by mail?....DO THEY HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON AT ALL????.......Any advice would be welcome...Ive read some pretty grubby stories about these operators....Thanks everyone...

Re: Link Financial Outsourcing - Link Financial

How old is the MBNA purported debt?

In which year did you make the original application for credit?

When did you last make a payment and/or acknowledge same?

Lastly, did you take out the MBNA (highly recommended) PPI?

Re: Link Financial Outsourcing - Link Financial

If the debt is more than six years old, it is time-barred. Link cannot legally chase the debt. As for obtaining your daughter's mobile number and obtaining your whereabouts by underhanded means, I would be inclined to report this to the OFT and ICO.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.

The debt is well over 6 years old and via Baines And Ernst I have been repaying since about 2001....The original debt to MBNA was around £6000 and I paid all my creditors an equal percentage of what I could afford..in MBNA's case that was around £10 per month...I payed Baines And Ernst my last payment in October 2011 and left for Australia..As far as I remember I did not take out any PPI with MBNA...
