  • Subject Access Request

Bit of an issue with a Subject Access Request I am trying to do...

JD Williams want two £10 fees for searching data held by JD Williams and Fashion World.

Both companies come under the N Brown Group plc yet they want a fee for each account held. This sounds odd to me; the legislation I am aware of does not make a distinction between how many accounts are held; only that should a company receive such a request they are compelled to process the request for all information held by that company.

Has anyone come up against this before?

I would think it depends on who the data controllers are, if the two, Fashion world and JD Williams, are seperate entities then it would be two requests and two fees, if Fashion World is part of JD Williams then I'd expect only one. May be worth asking N Brown Group for all information they or subsids hold on you under one request to include those two accounts - rather than those two direct.

Although I'm still fighting to get all the info that I'm supposed to have for all of the accounts, I was never asked for more than the one £10 so this seems odd!
