Hello all,
Am hoping for a bit of advice. Way back in the mists of time (circa 2003) I had a Natwest credit card with a balance of £2,300.00 or thereabouts, which I defaulted on in around October 2004 (although my credit file records this as a couple of months later) Default being the result of having been made redundant and birth of first child, was quite a bewildering time.
Anyway, was harrassed by Allied International Credit for a while in around March of last year, so I CCA'd them and they replied that the account was closed and to send no money, they then sent 'for my info' something from Natwest with my signature, however, it was scanned and reduced and so tiny as to be impossible to read. I consigned it to my files and moved house in May.
I was immediately contacted by Rockwell (acting on behalf of Phoenix, acting on behalf of Tessera.....ad nauseum, never heard of any of them) for the same issue and duly ignored them, have heard no more about it until a flurry of letters over the past month, threats of coming to my house etc, ending with their 'Final Notice Before Action'. I have, thus far, steadfastly ignored them as I don't like being threatened by some nonentity claiming I owe them money without so much as even a letter of assignment. Now I'm wondering what to do, my instinct is to carry on ignoring them, my rationale being that if they had anything they would have used it against me long since.
On the other hand, I'm wondering what if they do. A fresh perspective would be gratefully received.
