hi all
I understand that banks can offset savings accounts etc against debt you owe them.
How does this work with regard to one bank being a division of another.
e.g. I have a debt with Barclays (managed through CCCS), and have a small amount of money in an ISA with Standard Life, which is a division of Barclays.
The question is: can Barclays take the money from Standard Life to partially pay the debt?
Many thanks
