  • DMP with CCCS

I've got about 50k of debt to various creditors. The debt is being managed by CCCS with a DMP. All creditors have accepted the payment arrangement and have stopped all charges and interest. One of my creditors continues to charge me interest and over limit & non repayment charges even though they are aware of my situation and they have closed my account. I have written to them several times to request they stop charging me but they have refused and CCCS have confirmed that they cannot do anything about it. The rate of interest and charges means that even though I am paying a monthly amount, my debt to this one creditor continues to increase. What can I do, please help.

Are any of those creditors to do with Credit cards and Bank Accounts?

Who is the creditor that continues to chase? Are they threatening court action ?

Do you own your own home and is it an unsecured debt?

I went on a DMP with CCCS and everyone bar HFC accepted, HFC went to court for judgment and to secure the debt on the house. From reading the forums over the last couple years this seems to be the norm. They then accepted installments and interest was frozen. CCCS are a bit rubberstampy and seem to think you should just accept anything thrown at you.

Thanks for your replies. I have a joint mortgage for my home, (only 5 years into it). I have no debts secured to my home. I really don't want my partner to be affected by my debts, we have nothing in joint names other than our mortgage and we have never defaulted on that. No court action has been taken yet although they continue to threaten it. The debt with the creditor that won't accept the offered payments & whom continues to charge me ect is related to a bank account overdraft and an unsecured loan. The creditor is NatWest. Any ideas?? Thanks again.
