Hello, in 2012 I had an insanely bad breakup with my partner and lost everything including my mental health. I stopped making payments on a credit card with a balance of ~3500 and a limit of 4000. Fast forward 7 years and today I received a letter from intrum chasing payment, clearly they have bought the debt. I have had no dealing with the original lender in any way and my last payment was October 2012. As that is now 7 years almost to the month, one would assume it statute barred but is the only way to be sure by finding out when the default was placed on my credit file?
Possible statute barred?
