  • Westcot Aka Goldfish

Mr T, received this letter from Westcot this morning. This appears to be a debt from Goldfish which they are collecting.

Now, he did receive a couple of years ago a letter and at the time he was ill and gave them permission to speak to me. They never did. The reference on those letters are completey different to the one on the enclosed letter.

There are also bound to be many charges and that this could be recovered with interest maybe even compounded and this may reduce the debt substantially .

Therefore, I propose that that a CCA request with £1 to assertain, that they have a fully signed and executed credit agreement, a deed of asignment and copies of all statements and documentary evidence for the alledged debt. He will also deny owing this debt at this time.

It is a nonsence, they have not written before. We have been at our address for over 9 years.

Any other help or advise please.

    Thanks

The wife had one of those recently after a failed CCA to the same company.
Have you had any other approaches about this debt ?
To be honest I'd be inclined to wait and see if they write again, and then hit them with your request.

Seems Wescot have recntly changed their mentods, but are basically still the same.

CB, He last received a requests for payments in 2006 when he was ill. No other letters until this one arrived this morning. He has been receiving the old phonecalls on his business line but of course he will not give any personal data to people that call and ask.

I am interested to know why you feel he should wait to see if they call or write again. Surely hitting them with a CCA request will keep them busy and will give my o/h the time to tot up what the charges come to.

What was the outcome with your wife with the failed CCA..... what stage is she at now!

      xx

We're still waiting for compliance from these "people".
I had a very long and detailed discussion with them about s78 and the phone monkey wasn't particularly amused

If you where last approached in 2006 about this then W could well be simply phishing for a response.
I never action the very first letter, but wait to see if they are serious of simply "shacking the tree for apples".
After all it can't hurt now can it ?

You were very quick off the mark Curly....

They are saying thankyou for making contact...... but assure you that o/h has not made any contact.

Should he send the letter now or wait.........

              thanks

                Hmmmm odd one that.
Seems you are in the grips of the Threat-O-Matic 9000 and your name is in the letter cycle.

Your call, but I'd be inclined to wait until they write something more substantive.
