I need some advice about how quickly my monthly direct debit to Barclaycard should take to clear.
My most recent payment left my account on 05.02.13, but as of today it is still showing as 'pending'. I've traded messages with them, and the latest information they have come back to me with is that a direct debit payment can be reversed up to 4 working days after it was paid.
It's a bit of an academic point as I am not using the card anyway, but it seems odd that debit card payments clear within a couple of hours, but direct debit payments take a week.
Any idea if there is anything 'official' about this?
