egg ppi

I have written to egg to reclaim ppi that was added to our account suddenly.
at the time i rang them up and asked them why they had added them without us agreeing to them.
they removed them immediately.
I did not realise at the time that they should have repaid them.

I have had a letter back from egg stating that as i am not the first named on the account they can't deal with me.
Funny how they could deal with me when i phoned them up about the ppi.

Can they refuse to deal with me now?
