Re: ...and so it begins again. Virgin Credit Card
Hi Stoney,
The obvious answer you might be expecting to see is LBA and then, if they fail to pay up, file a claim at Court.
However !!!!!
My advice is as follows
Don't do anything else other than continue to pay off the remaining balance of £7500 as quickly as you can afford.
When you get to the point that you can actually afford to pay off the remaining balance of the card, in one hit, then raise the issue of these charges again and write to inform them that you wish to close the account, enclose a cheque for the remaining balance LESS the charges plus compensatory interest.
To do anything else at this stage, with such a large balance on the account compared to the relatively small amount of charges you are looking to reclaim, would not be sensible. One or two little slip ups on your part risk a default and damage to your credit file plus a good chance of court action against you for recovery of the full balance.
It might be worth writing a letter to the Credit Card Company explaining your finacial situation and requesting a freeze on the interest being charged to the account to assist you in paying off the balance. Probably won't work but maybe worth a try.
