barclay card & charges

hi ,
i just wanted to ask a quick question please!
If i actually won and barclay card settled for their charges, would they pay me the money or would it be took off the alleged debt, as it has been purchased by the debt collection company?

They may send you a cheque for the charges, but equally they may take it off the balance owed. It's difficult to say for certain.

Either way you are quids in though.

Depends on the figures.

How much is the alledged debt?

What do the charges plus interest total?

They will more than likely reduce the outstanding debt and anything left over (if any would be sent to you in a cheque).

no worries!
i'd be glad just to reduce the debt . it would mean that the debt got reduced by half.
debt c. ag. have defulted me on it, but (touch wood!) have not heard from them since, just wasn't sure who , if i were lucky enough to win, would get the money.

Lets re-phrase that when not if you win.

They will drag it out but do pay out in the end. I would recomend a claim with the FOS on this if not already done as they settle fairly quickly on this type of claim. Make sure though that they include interest from the date of each charge though as when they first make a settlement offer they will try to fob you off with charges and 8% on the total amount, which if you have older charges works out considerably less.
