  • NewDay Ltd - Not happy

Need some advice please over NewDay Ltd.

They sent me a letter on the 14th May 2018 saying that due to my circumstances they will not seek to recover the balance of my account.

On the 12th June 2018, I noticed a Default had been marked on my credit file at the credit reference agency.

This has caused me to have a drop of 220 in score, leaving me with no credit rating.

How can they justify doing this after telling me that they will not seek to recover the balance!?

    I'm confused!!

On the letter they sent stating they will not seek to recover the balance did they state anything as to the consequences of accepting ?
Were you to to date on the account prior to their letter - made a complaint etc ?

Yes, I did make a complaint.

NewDay were aware that I was in financial difficulty when they agreed to not recover the balance of the account.

I had given them a detailed income and expenditure and provided proof of medical evidence.

        This was all accepted.

In the letter dated the 14th May, there was no mention of a default being issued at the CRA's.

I forgot to add I had missed payments, but they agreed to not put any charges or interest on the account, and they also agreed to freeze the account.

I dont recall getting an actuald efault notice thuogh regarding the account.
