  • Lloyds TSB default

Dear all thanks for reading my post any tips and advice w’d be much much appreciated

I can’t really remember exact timing but about 4-5 years ago i’ve been offered credit card by my bank Lloyds TSB which i’ve accepted and been using it fine
Then sometime 2011 after visit to local branch i’ve been offered credit card i’ve explained that i had one credit card from lloyds, then representative started talking about increasing the credit limit and all the great offers they had and handed me form which i’ve filled in and banded back, within a week or so i’m receiving shiny new card with credit limit of 700£ which was the same on the old card.
Shortly after i got smartphone registered for online banking and this was the only way i was doing my banking not really checking postal statements and letters
Under the online banking i only had 1 credit card account showing which was the new one i received and regularly making transfers after usage no issues at all, assuming the old one got canceled and this was some kind of an upgrade to new card
Recently i started receiving letters from Debt collectors that i owe lloyds money, i registred on noddle.co.uk and checked my credit report surprise surprise 2 credit cards from looyds one defauled hmmm i rung DCA and made imediate payment 535£

Now what i wanted to ask is there any way i can get lloyds to remove default from account as its system of theirs got me confused and ruined my reputation i made a payment and have no issue of paying when i owe money

    Many thanks
    Leo

    Re: Lloyds TSB default

I dont think you stand much chance, it would probably take court action and even then it's unlikely a judge would be won round as the arguiument would be based around your forgetting that you had a debt of £100's on the other card

To play devils advocate, what did you think happened to the debt on the other card, as surely the newone started with a balance of £0.00?

I think you'll have to chalk this up to experience and be a bit more careful in the future

I agree. Getting wrongful defaults removed is very difficult. Getting defaults removed which are not really wrong as the mistake was yours would be almost impossible. Defaults drop off your file after 6 years in any case.
