Hi All
I am new to this forum, but was hoping someone could help.
I have suffered with an adverse credit rating for years now, despite not missing a single payment or going overdrawn in over 8 years.
I decided to check my credit score with Noddle as it was free to do so.
I established that there are 9 debts associated to me which belong to someone with the same name and date of birth, but lives at the other end of the UK.
I also have 2 other names and 2 addresses associated to me which I have never heard of.
I raised a total of 13 disputes with the credit agency, and they have recently sent automated emails rejecting every dispute.
A few years ago my wife and I moved house, and because of my adverse credit, we bought the house in my wifes sole name in order to secure a mortgage. We will be moving again soon, and I really want to get this sorted out so we can purchase our next home in joint names.
I approached the largest creditor (Northern Rock Asset Management), who are owed nearly £300k by this namesake of mine. They were totally unhelpful, and gave the impression that the onus is on me to prove I am not this person rather than the other way around.
Does anyone know whether a) there is a simple way to resolve this, or b) whether there is a legal firm which would take this on , on a no win no fee basis?
Thanks in Advance
Tony
