  • what date is default removed ???

i had a default put on my jdwilliams account Septembe 2008. i settled this June 2009. i recently wrote to jdwilliams asking them to remove it as a gesture of goodwill, i had a letter back saying no as it is a true reflection of how you ve conducted your finances and it will remain on your credit file six years from the settlement date.
I thought it was six years from default date which would be September 2014.
Anyone know which date is right ???

Yes, 6 years from the default date. They are talking nonsense.

Also it is the CRA that drops it off the file once expired, so JDWilliams can't keep it on longer even if they wanted to.
