  • Smileypeters Vs. HSBC - Default Removal

    Hi guys,

I attempted to get a default removed from my account early last year but was amidst a hell of a lot of work at university so when I got an unwelcome response I put it on the back-burner for a while. I am now ready to return to the issue and hopefully get a bit further than I did last time.

I sent a standard letter to HSBC on 3rd March last year requesting the removal as well as a Statutory Notice. Here are the links to the pdf files:

I received a reply from them on 24th March which I have scanned in and uploaded the pdf below:

So they basically said no they aren't going to remove it.

Now I am revisiting the case should I resend the initial letter and see if I get a different response as it's been so long or are there other standard letters in circulation?

Now I've finished university I seriously need to get this off my credit score as it is very damaging at the moment, I was unable to even get a mobile phone contract last week!

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.
