  • Very confused about CRA's

    Can anyone please help.

I've been declined credit by both Lloyds and Nationwide.

I've had both accounts for many years.

I've check my credit file with both Experian and TransUnion.

All old accounts are shown as "Settled", however on payment history 2 accounts show late repayment even though marked "Settled", is this why?

No defaults, and no late repayments, on the electrol roll, etc etc.

I've good income a mixture of private pension, disability benefits, and a Trust fund payment each month.

In total £1800 a month income.

I tick "Retired" as I'm retired on health grounds.

Homeowner no mortgage, no other loans.

On time with current debt repayments.

Credit score with TransUnion is 569, Experian 710.

If they are both reporting same data, why does the TransUnion score appear to be much lower then Experian!?

    Any advice please most welcome.

Your Experian score is ‘Poor’ and your TransUnion score is ‘Ok’ . This may influence the decisions the banks have made, along with your existing borrowing on your four credit cards, and their knowledge of the history of how you’ve run accounts in the past.

You wouldn't expect the scores to be the same there is no universal score in the UK used by all lenders and CRAs . TransUnion's score is out of 710, Experian's is 999 and Equifax's is 700. So it is not possible to directly compare the different CRA scores because whilst they all use very similar data each company has its own scoring model.
