  • Provident /BCW S78 request

Well I had 3 provident loans all with different agreement numbers that they rolled up into 1 and sold to BCW. I sent off a S78 request and got back poor copies (but probably legible ) of the agreements and three statements . Now the statements were not signed and the cover letter did not make any reference to the amount owing so I am thinking that I could claim non complaince of S78
The interesting bit , and the one I want opinion on is that the last entry on each statement ( 1 sample attached) shows a write off and a balance of £0 .

What are peoples opinions on this?

Well, the statement does show it as having been written off.

I'm wondering whether this would be because it's been sold to a debt purchaser. Debts do get written off by the original lender when sold. Have you received a NoA or heard from anyone other than provident?

      Hi
It was assigned to BCW on17th Dec . It just seems like they have dropped one when they are stating that the balance is 0 on a CCA request

Uh, that would explain why it was written off on the 2nd of January. Obviously they didn't work over the Xmas season, hence the delay.

        It does seem rather strange!
