A SAR, is always of benefit, however it is doubtful that you would receive the required information in time.
IMHO, you should request disclosure under CPR 31.14 and;
if necessary 31.15.
Please bear in mind that until your claim is allocated it will be considered multi track. Therefore, the disclosure rules apply.
You should apply for an extension, prior to submitting your defence.
